Indian citizens don't require any special permit to visit Andaman. However, foreign nationals need a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) which is easily available on arrival at Port Blair airport for 30 days stay.
The ideal time to visit Andaman is between October and May when the weather is pleasant with calm seas. Monsoon season (June-September) may see ferry cancellations due to rough seas.
For government ferries, booking opens 30 days in advance and popular routes get booked quickly. Private cruises can be booked 2-3 months ahead. During peak season, we recommend booking inter-island transfers at least 2 weeks in advance.
